Overdrive

[E]I got eighteen wheels and a polished rig,

I'm in a big ol' hurry, and I do mean big
Gotta get t[A]his load to bikini town
Before the [E]sun comes up and they shut me down
[D]O, [A]O, [E]Overdrive

[E]Got stopped by the man at a seagul scale

Sidetracked by the waitress at a steak & ale
Got w[A]aylaid, all day, traffic jam
Just [E]south of the border down in alabam
[D]O, [A]O, [E]Overdrive

(chorus)
[D]Ov[A]er[E]drive, i gotta [D]roll on j[A]ust to sur[E]vive
The only t[D]ime i [A]feel ali[E]ve

Is when i kick it into
[G]O, [A]O, Over[E]drive

My mama said when I was born I was born on the run
My daddy was a truck driving son of a gun
Got a highway song running through my brains
Got diesel oil pumping through my veins
O, O, Overdive

(to chorus)

(to chorus)

I had a dream last night i was standing still
I woke up, broke out sweating to chill
When the white line stops they better lay me down
In a cab over coffin in a new hard ground
O, O, Overdrive

(finishing chorus)
Overdrive, i gotta roll on just to survive
The only time i feel alive
Is when i kick it into
O, O, Overdrive
I kick into
[G]O, [A]O, [C]O, [D]O, [E]Overdrive
