Key: [D]

Doo da doo do[D]o doo A doo da doo doo [D]doo

[D]Who is the girl wearing nothing but a smile
and a [D]towel in the picture on the billboard
in the [D]field near the [A7]big old [D]highway?

[A7]Rolling down the highway in my Jimmy hauling freight
from [A7]Chicago to St. Louis Lord I see her every [D]day

A [D]double clutching weasel like me can hardly ever
get a [D7]girl to look at him that [G]way

[G]Smiling like the girl wearing [D]nothing but a smile
and a [D]towel in the picture on the billboard
in the field near the [A7]big old [D]highway

[D]Wow what a girl wearing nothing but a smile
and a [D]towel in the picture on the billboard
in the [D]field near the big old [A7]highway

I [A7]bet it wouldn't take her very long to be gone
if [A7]someone would pull a dirty trick and take her towel a[D]way

I slow my [D]Jimmy down to 20 that's how many wrecks
I [D7]see there every [G]day

[G]Caused by the girl wearing [D]nothing but a smile
and a [D]towel in the picture on the [D]billboard
in the [D]field near the [A7]big old [D]highway

A doo da doo doo [D]doo A doo da doo doo [D]doo

Oh [D]I love the girl wearing nothing but a smile
and a [D]towel in the picture on the billboard
in the [D]field near the big old [A7]highway

I [A7]guess I'm getting bolder
'cause I'd [A7]rather kiss and hold her
than just keep a lookin' at her every[D]day

At [D]4:45 coffee drinking eating time Jimmy [D7]shimmies
while I [D7]wake up the artist who painted the displ[G]ay

Of the [G]girl wearing nothing but a [D]smile
and a towel in the [D]picture on the billboard
in the field near the [A7]big old [D]highway

Dog[D]gone that girl wearing nothing but a smile

and a towel in the picture on the billboard
in the field near the big old [A7]highway

[A]Sleepy headed painter said the girl wasn't real
Better [A7]get the (&*%$) on my [D]way

On [D]Route 66 from the billboard to Chicago
You'll [D7]find tiny pieces of my heart scattered every which-a way

[G]Scattered by the girl wearing [D]nothing but a smile
and a [D]towel in the picture on the billboard
in the field near the [A7]big old [D]highway
