Midweek Midmorning

[G]You were[D] never one for sleeping late
But oh! the working week ca[Bm]n wait
We ought to spend today t[Em]ogether
Y[G]ou might be less than over[D]joyed
   Unimpressed and unemploye[Bm]d
But I refuse to waste this w[D]eather
   A mid[G]week midmorning to ourse[D]lves
It would be misspent somewhere[Bm] else
We wasted most of winter feelin[Em]g
That we[G] should stay inside inste[D]ad
Lie on our backs on our b[Bm]ed
Beneath the stains upon the c[D]eiling

I was never one for getting up
   And catercorner from the pub
   I found it difficult deciding
Between the indoors and the out-
But overhead there's not a cloud
That couldn't once have been skywriting
[D] [G] [A] [G]
You[D] beside and bluer skies above [G]me
Spr[A]ing fashion week and don't we both look l[G]ovely
Yeah[D], you beside and bluer skies above[G] me
Spr[A]ing fashion week and don't we both look l[G]ovely
