We Danced

[D]The bar was emp[A]ty, I wa[D]s sweepin' up the floor
[Esus]That's when she wa[E]lked in, I said I'm [A]sorry but we're closed
[Bm]She said [A]I know, but I'm a[D]fraid I left my purse
I said I [Esus]put one back beh[E]ind the bar,[A] bet its prob'ly yours
And the [Bm]next thing that I knew, there we [E]were, lost in conver[A]sation
Before I [Bm]handed her her purse,
I said you'll [G]only get this back on [D/F#]one cond[E]ition [E7]

And we dan[A]ced
[Bm]Out there on that [A]empty hardwood [E]floor
The chairs up and the lights turned w[A]ay dow[D]n low
The music played we held each other clos[E]e
And we dance[A]d

And from that moment, there was never any doubt
I had found the one, that I had always dreamed about
And then one evenin' she stopped by after work
I pulled a diamond ring, out of the pocket of my shirt
And as her eyes filled up with tears
She said this is the last thing I expected
And then she took me by the hand
And said I'll only marry you on one condition

And we da[A]nced
Like [Bm]no one else had [A]ever danced before[E]
I can't explain what happened [A]on tha[D]t floor
But the music played, we held each o[A]the[E]r close[Esus]
And we danc[A]ed

[D]Yeah, we danced [A]

Enjoy!
