When I Said I Would

[D]The first time

That I ever
Saw your [A]face

I felt something
Stop me in my [Em]place

The kinda thing

That you

Just can't see
[G]Coming your way
[D]I closed my eyes

And I jumped right in
[A]Zero to sixty

And to the win
[Em]With my head held high

Like it was
[G]Never gonna end
[D]And I trusted you
[A]When you asked me to

[D]When I said I would

Tell me

What was I thinking
[A]I gave my heart

Without even blinking
[Em]That's all you got?

Well baby
That's just [G]no good
(Whoa)
Don't [D]give me that lie

You know I won't buy it
[A]You're as good at love

As you are at lying
[Em]You said "uh-huh"

But I just don't think
You [G]understood
When I said I [D]would

[D]I stood by you

Played by the rules
[A]For a second I thought

That you did too
[Em]Makes me wonder

How long you

Would have let me
Be a [G]fool
[D]I gave it my best
[A]This is what I get

(Same as before, [D],[A],[Em],[G])
When I said I would
Tell me
What was I thinking
I gave my heart
Without even blinking
That's all you got?
Well, baby
That's just no good
(Whoa)
Don't give me that lie
You know I won't buy it
You're as good at love
As you are at lying
You said "uh-huh"
But I just don't think
You understood
When I said I would
Uuuuuhhhhh
When I said I would

I'm [D]taking back
(When I said
I would love you)
[A]I'm taking back
(Every kiss
That I gave you)
[Em]I'm taking back
(Every promise
I made you)
[G]I'm taking back
Everything
That I said

([G],[D],[Em],[G])
When I said I would
Tell me
What was I thinking
I gave my heart
Without even blinking
That's all you got?
Well, baby
That's just no good
(Whoa)
Don't give me that lie
You know I won't buy it
You're as good at love
As you are at lying
You said "Uh-huh"
But I just don't think
You understood
When I said I would
When I said I would

(Whoa)
Don't [D]give me that lie

You know I won't buy it
[A]You're as good at love

As you are at lying
[Em]You said "Uh-huh"

But I just don't think
You [G]understood
When I said I [D]would
[A]When I said I [D]would
