Blue Flashing Light

[Em]Saturday evening at quarter to five
I would [Am]see him arrive at the door
[D]Pushed you aside as he stagered inside
spilling [Em]alcohol over the floor
[Em]A storm is a brew it is sure to fall soon
as [Am]I look at you from ashore

So you'd [G]better hold on

'cos it's saturday night
and your [Em]friends are all out

and you feel like shit
'cos they [G]never called you

no they never called you
no they [Em]never called, never called

Never bloody ever

[Em]Call me a name and i'll hit you again
you're a [Am]slut, you're a bitch, you're a hore
[D]talk to your dad in that tone of voice
there's a [Em]belt hanging over the door
so you [Em]run to your room, and you hide in your room
thinking [Am]how you could settle the score

chorus * 1

[Em]The blue flashing light last saturday night
brought the [Am]neighbours all out on the street
[D]they watched as the fireman carried you out
and they [Em]stared at each others feet
everyone [Em]sees yet nobody says
are you [Am]all just afraid of the heat

but it's [G]saturday night

and i'm lying alone
and the [Em]bed that i made

disconnected the phone
still they [G]never call you

no they never call you
no they [Em]never call, never call

Never bloody ever call
