Separate Ways

a fa[G]ce I only dream of

from another time. a [C]space I thought I left

but in our hearts we never [C]changed

we threw it all away

I learnt to carry on

So close we nearly touched

time can fall away [E]
but nothing can change the man [F]inside
or bring us back the [E]love once we denied[Am]

The candle burned
but in a world of darkness
I'd seperate
my life before and after her
now I see that nothing every really changed
but it's too late

I stood a while

spoke her name
then as she turned to face me
For a second there was something in her eyes
As if to say
time and tide can't wait

We took our seperate ways
but in our hearts we never changed

could we go back once again

without her, without her trace
