Watching You Well

Chords in this song

Strum
D-DU-UDU

 you stand now, holding  yourself
a little  of the moon is coming  in the room.
 you stand very still
like you  were in the arms  of everyone  you ever wanted.
 i was watching you well.

 i won't stop you;  i won't speak.
the water  on your cheek is the only  thing smooth and
i'm ashamed that i'm  ashamed of you
standing  in my room,  lets more water  overtake  you
and i was watching you,  watching you well.

 Interlude/Solo ...
 |  |  | 4x
why won't  you leave me quicker
 why won't you leave me?

i'm ashamed that i'm  ashamed of you
for standing  in my room, lets more water  overtake you
 i won't stop you
 and i won't  speak.
why won't  you leave me quicker?
 why won't you
leave  me...
Now here comes the tab which demonstrates the way I strum it. It is for sure
not exactly the way The National play it, but I think it comes pretty close
to the feeling of the song. However, it's just for you to have and idea, maybe
you like it, and if not, just do your own thing, it's music :)
I also noted the downstrokes with "d" and the upstrokes with "u", so you might
get a better idea of the actual rhythm (always annoying with those ascii tabs).
 Progression A: In the intro and first verse I play the | G | C | Am | C D |
progression like this (note that I don't actually play a D but from the C I slide
into someting like a Dadd9add11, I like it but if you don't, just play a normal D):
d d u u d d u d d d u u d d d
