Now, [Gm]in my house there's been a mercy [Bb]killing
The [F]man I used to [C/G]be's been cruci[Gm]fied
And the [Gm]death of this man is the final way of re[Bb]vealing,
In the [F]spiritual way, to [C/G]live I had to [Gm]die

Now [Gm]if I let that dead man linger [Bb]in me,
I [F]might get a little [C/G]idle in my [Gm]way
So I'm [Gm]going down to the celebration [Bb]river,
Gonna [F]take this dead man [C/G]down to a water [Gm]grave

[Gm] - [Bb] - [F] - [C/G] - [Gm] x2

[Gm]I'm going down to the [Bb]river
[F]I'm gonna be [C/G]buried [Gm]alive
[Gm]I want to show my [Bb]Heavenly Father,
The [F]man I use to [C/G]be has finally [Gm]died

When I [Gm]think of where I'm going
In [Bb]terms of where I've been,
It [F]makes me glad to [C/G]know, my Lord, that [Gm]I've been born again x2

[Gm]I'm going down to the [Bb]river
[F]I'm gonna be [C/G]buried [Gm]alive
[Gm]I want to show my [Bb]Heavenly Father,
The [F]man I use to [C/G]be has finally [Gm]died x2
