[Em] We[Em]ll I lost[Em] my dog i[D]n California

[G] I Came home o[C]ne day to find out that

 [G] I had misplace[C]d that giant rat

[G] I didn't[C] want to be too crude

[D] So I just yelled Hey [D]Nor[C]man FOOD

[G] I waited[C] for my dog to come

 [G] I don't know [C]how I'd been so dumb

[G] To leave a [C]dog like him alone

 [G] While[C] I had [D]been away from home

[G] OH where can[D] Norman be

 [C] Di[D]d he climb up a tree

 [G] and Fall down an[D]d get ca[C]rried a[D]way

[G] or Did he[D] run into the street

[C] and Lose t[D]he traction on his feet

o[G]r maybe He just felt[C] like leaving[G] me [C]tod[G]ay [D]

        (Guitar solo)

[G] Oh why did Norman leave me

[C] And go off to live his life

[G] In a cold dark hole with no [D]one there to care

[G] And never plan on coming back

[C] to live in his old backyard shack

[G] And let me [D]run my fingers thr[G]ough his hair
