Precious Promise

[G] [D6] [F#] [Em7] [C]
S [G]Oh what a precious [D6]pro[F#]mise
[E]C [Em7]Oh what a gift of [Bm]love
T [C] [D]
An angel tells a virgin that
[A] [G]She's gonna have a son [C]

And though it's a precious promise
A She wonders how can this be
    What will the people say
And what if Joseph can't believe

And her [Am]questions and her fears
S [Am7] [Adim] [G]
E Are met with an overwhelming joy
[C]T That [D6]God[F#] has chosen [Em7]her
B [Cm7]Oh what a precious promise
    [Am7]Mary waits as [D]heaven comes to [G]earth

    Oh what a precious promise
A Oh what a gift of love
Joseph makes his choice to do
What few men would have done

To take Mary as his bride
When she's already carrying a child
B That isn't his own
    Oh what a precious promise
Mary and the child will have a home

    And [Em7]shepherds stand on a [Bm]hillside
    Their hearts [C]racing with the [D]news the angel [C]told [G]them [C] [G]
A [Em7]star's light fills up the [Bm]dark sky
As the [C]night of precious [G6]pro[B]mise is un[C]folding

    Oh what a precious promise
A Oh what a gift of love
The waiting now is over and
    The time has finally come

For the God who made this world
To roll back the curtain and unveil
B His passion for the heart of man
    Oh what a precious promise
Lying in a manger in Bethle[Em]hem

    [Cm7]Oh what a precious promise
    [Am]Lying in [D]a manger in Beth[G]lehem [G]
