Hey Good Try

[D]Remember we promised we'd never [F#m]stop,
[D]Keep going until we all just dro[F#m]pped
[D]In a town full of hotsho[A/C#]ts,
[Bm]It's the one who can't hold his [A]tongue,
[G]who’ll be out run and comes undo[A]ne.

So now your little tongue has split
And all the little doggies come to have their bit,
With mouths so loud they damn near broke the speed of sound,
They don't bite they simply bark behind your back.

So h[D]ey good tr[A/C#]y, you can run all[Bm] you like, [A]
We'll still ha[G]ng out from time t[A]o time,
Cause you're a mighty go[D]od frien[A/C#]d of mine, [Bm] [A]
[G]And it might be [A]worth you holding on a w[D]hile.

It seems to me now we're all falling,
Like dogs we all find shit to roll in,
This time we've been out done,
But by Christ we had our fun,
So I'll just sit here waiting for the sun,

So hey, good try, you can run all you like,
We'll still hang out from time to time,
Cause you're a mighty good friend of mine,
And it might be worth you holding on a while.

So hey, I know, time it goes so slow,
When you've got no mud to throw,
It seems to hit you square in the nose,
And if you come back a better man,
Only you'll know.
