Blackbird Fly Away

{tuning: Standard (EADGBE)}
[C]Like a broken baske[G]tball
on a dir[F]ty backyard court,
I was [C]unable to roll aw[G]ay
but I have [F]air now
[C]Up this lad[G]der, I keep c[F]limbing
try[C]ing to reach a little far[G]ther
dig my ha[F]nds into the water

breaking up the storm
[C] [G] [F]
(and there she goes)[C]

{section: Chorus}
Blackbir[G]d, fly away[F]
[Am]into the [G]hollow sky[F]
[Am]Blackbird, t[G]ake me with[F] you
'cause I can't fly  [Am]
I'll ho[G]ld on tigh[F]tly
(but I can't fly)
[Am] [G] [F]

(Repeat Verse Chords)
Looking up , I reach out
stealing falling feathers
as they tumble to the ground
it's strange how they
work  so well for you
while slowing me down
(blackbird, I envy you)

(repeat chorus)

(BRIDGE)
I could le[Am]ave here on my ow[G]n
if my he[F]art was not so heavy
[Am]maybe you can tea[G]ch me
how to sw[F]im in the sky

Blackbird, fly away
into the hollow sky
Blackbird, take me with you
'cause I can't fly
I'll hold on tightly
