1

Wel[Am7]l I just need a p[G]lace to lay my h[C2]ead
For[Am7]get the chain that[G] hangs around my [C2]neck
The[Am7]se guns are not as h[G]eavy as the hea[D]rts they defend
I c[Am7]an't wait to get b[G]ack home where I c[D]an find some rest

1

When [Am7]I lay down my [G]guns and lift my [D]hands
Sur[Am7]render to Lo[G]ve and live [D]again
May thi[Am7]s desert reach its [G]end where my n[D]ew life begins
When I [F]lay down my g[C]uns and lift my [G]hands

[Am7] [G] [C2]

2

And [Am7]I have seen the [G]devil in this [C2]place
And [Am7]I lost myself when[G] my friends found [C2]the grave
When[Am7] you're this far from[G] Heaven
It's h[D]ard to keep the faith
I'm [Am7]barely holding [G]on
I[D] can't wait to

2

[Am7]Lay down my [G]guns and lift my [D]hands
Sur[Am7]render to Lo[G]ve and live [D]again
May thi[Am7]s desert reach its [G]end where my n[D]ew life begins
When I [F]lay down my g[C]uns and lift my [G]hands

And I'm[Am7] laying down these [G]burdens
[D]Taking off the weights
And I[Am7] can't count the [G]miles that I've [D]walked to find my way
To [Am7]lay down these [G]guns [D]
How I need to [Am7]lay down these [G]guns [D]

[Am7]Lay down

[C2]Lay down my guns
