In My Time Of Need

Intro [G]

Will you [C]comfort [G]me in my [C]time of [G]need
[C]Take away the p[G]ain and hurtful d[D]eed

Cause when w[C]e need it [G]most there's no [C]rain at [G]all
[C]The dust just s[G]ettles right ther[D]e on the field

Will you [Am]say to me, little rain's [C]gon' come
When the [G]sky can't offer none to [D]me
Cause I will [Am]comfort you when my [C]days are through
And I'll [G]let your smile just [C]off and carry [G]me

Cause when the calm comes down
I take the truck on into town
And buy whatever we can't seem to grow
Work these hands to bleed
Cause I got mouths to feed
And I got fifteen dollars hid above the stove

Cause it ain't like it was
On back in those days
When everyone would offer up a hand
These old bones are worn
I've grown tired son
I know my time is surely gonna come

Lord we married young
Stayed where we come from
And gave those children everything we had

(chorus chords)
Will you stay with me
In my time of need
Though it seems we had such little time for love
