Pick Me Up On Your Way Down

[A]You were mine for just a while
Now you're [D]puttin' on the style
And you've [E]never once looked back
At your home across the [A]track
[A]You're the gossip of the town
But my [D]heart can still be found
Where you [E]tossed it on the ground
Pick me up on your way [A]down
[A]Pick me up on your way down
When you're [D]blue and all alone
When their [E]glamour starts to bore you
Come on back where you [A]belong

You may be their pride and joy
But they'll [D]find another toy
And they'll [E]take away your crown
Pick me up on your way [A]down

[A]They have changed your attitude
Made you [D]haughty and so rude
Your new f[E]riends can take the blame
Underneath you're still the [A]same

When you've learned these things are true
I'll be [D]waiting here for you
As you [E]tumble to the ground
Pick me up on your way [A]down
[A]Pick me up on your way down
When you're [D]blue and all alone
When their [E]glamour starts to bore you
Come on back where you [A]belong

You may be their pride and joy
But they'll [D]find another toy
And they'll [E]take away your crown
Pick me up on your way [A]down
