[C] Beneath the she[G]ets of pa[Am]per lie[Bm]s my trut[C]h
  I [D]have to[Em] go, I [D]have to go [C]
Your hair was long, [Cadd9] when we first met [C] [Cadd9]

  [D]Sam - son[Em] went back[G] to bed
[G]Not much hair left [C]on his head
He a[D]te a [Em]slice of wonder bread and wen[G]t right back[D] to bed
  And his[D]tory [Em]books for-got about us and th[G]e bible didn't [C]mention us
  And the bi[G]-ble d[D]idn't [Em]mention us, not
[Cadd9] even on[C]ce

And he t[C]old me that I'd d[G]one alright
and kiss[G]ed me '[D]til th[Em]e mornin' light, t[C]he mornin' light
  and he kis[G]sed me [D]'til t[Em]he mornin' lig[C]ht [Cadd9]

  [D]Sam - son[Em] went back [G]to bed
[G]not much hair left [C]on his head

  [D]Oh, w[Em]e couldn[G]'t bring the columns d[G]own
  Yea[G]h we couldn't destroy a single[C] one
And hist[C]ory books forgot [G]about us
  And the [G]bible [D]didn't [Em]mention us, not ev[C]en on[Cadd9]ce....
