Jerusalem

And [D]so we [A/D]lay here to [G/D]rest
And [D]so we [A/D]lay here with the [G/D]ground beneath our heads
And [D]not a word [A/D]among us has been [G/D]said
My little [D]child. [A/D] [G/D]

And [D]now the dogs are [A/D]barking t[G/D]onight
And [D]now the men will [A/D]bargain as they [G/D]sell beneath the lights
And [D]everything gets c[A/D]older here at n[G/D]ight
My little [D]child [A/D] [G/D]

[A/D]I've never been so [G/D]worn and weary
[A/D]I've never missed my [G/D]love so dearly [A/D] [G] [D]

My little child

[D] [A/D] [G/D]

And I cannot forget the things I saw
And I cannot forget the way they gathered in the halls
And standing all alone before them all
My little child

And somewhere there is laughter tonight
Somewhere there is singing in the choir in the light
But it's quiet in Jerusalem tonight
It's quiet in Jerusalem tonight
It's quiet in Jerusalem tonight
My little child

(Chorus)

ANd so we lay here to rest
And so we lay here with the ground beneath my head
And not a word among us has been said,
My little child....
