[As]sound [Gs]systems gonna [Ds]bring me back up
[As]one [Gs]thing that [Ds]i can depend on

[As]try to describe it to the limit of my ability
[Gs]it's there for a second then it's given up what it used to be
[Ds]contained in music somehow more than just around us
this inspirations coming and twisting things around us
[As]you always know that it's going to have to go
[Gs]you always know you'll be back in the cold
[Ds]point of departure sublimated in a song
it's always coming to give me that hope for just a seconb
then it's gone, but!

repeat chorus
[As]static pulse inside the music bringing us escape
[Gs]it's always temporary changing nothing in it's wake
[Ds]just a second when we're leaving all this shit behind
just a second but it's leaving just this much in mind
[As]to resist despair, that second makes you see...
[Gs]to resist despair, because you can't change everything
[Ds]to resist despair, in this world is what it is to be free
