On The Rise

[Bm] intro

[Bm]Any dolt with half a brain
Can see that human kind has gone insane
To the point where i don't know
If I'll upset the status quo
If I throw poison in the water main.

[G]Listen close to [Bm]everybody's heart

[G]And hear that breaking [Bm]sound

[G]Hopes and dreams are [Bm]shattering apart

And [F#m]crashing to the [A]ground.

[Bm]I cannot believe my [G]eyes

[Bm]How the world's filled with [A]filth and [G]lies

But it's [Bm]plain to [A]see

Evil in[E/G#]side of me [G] is on the [Bm]rise.

(Penny)

[D]Look around
We're living with the lost and found.
Just when you feel you've almost drowned
You find yourself on solid ground

And you be[Em]lieve there's good in [Bm]everybody's heart

[Em]Keep it safe and [Bm]sound.

[Em]With hope [Bm]you can do your part

To [A]turn a life around

[D]I cannot believe my [G]eyes

[D]Is the world finally [A]growing [G]wise?

[Bm]Cause it seems to m[A]e

Some kind of [E/G#]harmony [G] is on the [Bm]rise.

(Both: Dr Horrible first line, Penny second)

[D]Anyone with half a brain
Take it slow

[D] Could spend their whole life howling in pain
He looks at me and seems to know

[D] Cause the dark is everywhere And Penny doesn't seem to care
The things that I'm afraid to show And suddenly

[D]That soon the dark in me is all that will remain
I feel this glow

         [Em]Listen close to [Bm]everybody's heart
And I believe there's good in everybody's heart

And [Em]hear that breaking [Bm]sound
    Keep it safe and sound

[Em]Hopes and dreams are [Bm]shattering apart
With hope you can do your part

[F#]And crashing to the [A]ground.
     To turn a life around.

[D]I cannot believe my [G]eyes
I cannot believe my eyes

[D]How the world's filled with [A]filth and [G]lies
How the world's finally growing wise

But it's [Bm]plain to see [A]
                And it's plain to see

Evil ins[E/G#]ide of me [G]
       Rapture inside of me

is on the [Bm]rise...
is on the rise...
