New Morning

(intro: [C] [G] [C] [G] CG)

One morn[G] I awakened[C]
[C]And your sun was s[G]hining [C] [G]
[G]The sky was a ki[Em]ngdom [D]
[D]All covered with blood
[D]And the moon and the st[G]ars
[C]Were the troops that lay con[G]quered [C] [G]
[G]Like fruit left to w[Em]ither[D]
[D]All spiritual fo[G]od [C] [G]

[G]And the spears of the bright sun[C]
[C]All brave with its conq[G]uest [C] [G]
[G]Did hover unearht[Em]ly [D]
[D]With banners of fire
And I knelt in the garde[G]n
[C]and washed with the d[G]awn [C] [G]
The voice came so brig[Em]htly
[D]I covered my ey[G]es

[G]Thank you for giving [C]
[C]This bright new mo[G]rning [C] [G]
[G]So steeped seemed the eve[Em]ning [D]
[D]In darkness and blo[G]od
[G]
Let there be no sadness
- - - - -
No sorrow
Let there be n[C]o road to na[G]rrow
[G]There'll be a new day
[G]Yes its to[D]day
i[G]ts forever

(Note: repeat that last verse twice.)
