Just A Friend

[C] [Cmaj7] [F] [Fmaj7]

[C] [Cmaj7] [F] [Fmaj7] x2

1st verse
I [C]met a girl that I wanted to date
[F]make love to her but she wanted me to wait
I met her on tour at my concert
She had long hair and a short skirt

[D]I was onstage my clothes are covered with sweat
And walkin' through the crowd and guess wh[G]o I met

Refr.:
[C]Uuh, you got what I [F]need
but you [D]say he's just a friend
And you [G]say he's just a friend[G7]

[C] [Cmaj7] [F] [Fmaj7] x2

2nd verse
So I took a word at this time
I thought just havin' a friend sure couldn't be no crime
'cause I got friends and girls and that is cool
Like Agatha, Germaine, and Jacq
The show was over, she went back to school

I called every day to see how she was doin'
Somehow I knew it seemed that somethin' was brewin', trouble was brewing

Refr.:
Uuuh, you got what I need
but you say he's just a friend
And you say he's just a friend x2

3rd verse:
So the month passed by I went to visit her in college
To my surprise thought things are pretty stalled
I went to a gate to ask where was her dorm
The man at the desk filled out a visitor's form

I went upstairs and opened up the door
I saw a fellow making love to my girl on the floor, oh shit!

Refr.:
You, you got what I need
but you say he's just a friend
And you say he's just a friend

[C]So listen to the words I say
[F]Don't talk to a girl who says she just has a [C]friend
