[D] I turned on the evening news
Saw a[G] old man bein interviewed
[D]Turnin a hundered and two tod[G]ay
[D]They asked him what's the secret to life
[G]He looked up from his old pie
[D]Laughed and said all I can [G]say is

Don't [D]Blink, j[A]ust like that
Your [G]six years old and [A]you take a nap
And you [D]wake up and your [A]25
Then your [G]high school sweetheart's [A]become your wife
Don't [D]Blink, you [A]just might miss
You're [G]babies growin [A]like mine did
[D]Turnin into [A]moms and dads
Next [G]thing you know you're [A]better half
of [Em]50 years is[D/F#] there in bed
And your [G]prayin God takes [D/F#]you instead
[Em]Trust me friend, a[D/F#] hundred years goes[G] faster than you[A] think
So Don't [D]Blink [G] [D] [G]

[D] Well I was glued to my T.V.
When it [G]looked like he looked at me
And said,[D] "Best start puttin first things [G]first"
Cuz when your[D] hour glass runs outta sand
You can't[G] flip it over start again
[D]Take every breath God gives you for what it's[G] worth

REPEAT CHORUS

[D] [G] [D] [G]

So I been tryin to[Em] slow it down
I've been tryin to[D/F#] take it in
In this [G]here today gone tommorrow world
We're [A]livin in

REPEAT CHORUS

[D]throu[G]gh fa[D]de [G] [D] [G]
