Appalachian Rain

1.[Bm] Setting [Asus4]out on this jou[D]rn[Fis]ey

I [G]packed up my re[D]grets

Now I [Bm]sit here [Asus4]in this she[G]lter

Seems I [Asus4]don't have many lef[Bm]t

So I'm [G]writing you this [D]letter

On this [Asus4]rainy April day[Bm]

You said your [G]heart nee[D]ded some [Asus4]distan[Bm]ce

[G]So I [Asus4]walked away[D]

[Asus4]I would gla[D]dly walk from Geo[D]rgia, all[G] the way to Mai[D]ne

I would [G]cross the creeks and the [D]mo[Fis]untain peaks

[Bm]Whispering your [Asus4]name

If you [G]asked me I would [D]do[Fis] this

I would [G]go and [D]no[Fis]t com[Asus4]plain

But this [G]walk's for [D]me, to [Asus4]find my pea[Bm]ce

In the [G]Appa[Asus4]lachian rai[D]n

2.[Bm] Looking [Asus4]out on the Blu[D]e [Fis]Ridge

I pulled a [G]pebble from my [D]shoe

I threw it [Bm]down in[Asus4]to the val[G]ley

Then [Asus4]I sat and thought of you[Bm]

I wish some[G]how it was that [D]easy

To just let [Asus4]go of all the pai[Bm]n

But it's [G]not, so [D]I keep [Asus4]walkin[Bm]'

In the [G]Appa[Asus4]lachian Rai[D]n

You could [Asus4]meet me at Katah[Asus4]din

On that [Bm]clear September [Bm]day
But if you're [G]not there where the [D]tr[Fis]ail ends,

[G]I'll still be o[Asus4]kay
