Hidden Treasure

[G]For every academic, there's a [C]dozen coffee [D]shop
[G]and it's hard to sip on latte and [C]conceal the bomb i've [D]got
[C]I think I fell in [D]love with you, it [Em]wasn't hard to [G]do
But if [C]you don't love me [D]back, I'll fall straight [G]through

[G]Well I went for a kiss and I [C]received a shoulder [D]cold
[G]Jack told me I'm copper so I [C]shouldn't mine for [D]gold
[C]but i am unde[D]rground for [Em]every reason [G]to be
I'm not [C]coming out til [D]you're in love with [G]me

[C]If you follow your [G]heart you're[C] bound to get [G]hurt
because [C]love is [D]blind it is [Em]rarely [G]kind
when it [C]is it is [D]usually short-[G]lived

I tried to restrain myself took a silly step
I had planned to take it slowly but in retrospect I leapt
so if you wanna walk with me, come on and hold my hand
and hold my gaze into your pupil both expand

now i laid it on the table, put the ball in your court
and I ain't something so trivial to destroy your whole town court
if you feelin' lonely and would like some company
i will drop my plans and claim that i was free.

If you follow your heart you're bound to get hurt
because love is blind it is rarely kind
when it is it is usually short-lived
