I Loved Her First

[D] [Bm] [G] [G/F#] [Em] [A]

[D]Look at the two of you da[Bm]ncin' that way
[G]Lost in the m[G/F#]oment and e[Em]ach other's f[A]ace
[D]So much in love, you're a[Bm]lone in this place
Like there's no[G]body el[G/F#]se in the wo[Em]rld [A]

[D]I was enough for her [Bm]not long ago
[G]I was her [G/F#]number one, [Em]she told me [A]so
And she st[D]ill means the world to me j[Bm]ust so you know
So be car[G]eful when [G/F#]you hold my g[Em]irl [A]

[Bm]Time changes everything, l[G]ife must go on
And I'm n[D]ot gonna stand in your w[A]ay

I loved her fi[D]rst, I held her f[Bm]irst
And a place in my he[G]art will a[G/F#]lways be h[Em]ers
From the fi[A]rst breath she bre[D]athed when she first smiled at [Bm]me
I knew the lo[G]ve of a f[G/F#]ather runs d[Em]eep [A]
And I pr[Em]ayed that she'd [D/F#]find you som[G]eday[G/F#]
But it's s[Em]till hard to g[D/F#]ive her a[A]way, I loved her fi[D]rst

[Bm] [G] [G/F#]

[D]How could that beautiful wo[Bm]man with you
[G]Be the same fre[G/F#]ckled-face [Em]kid that I k[A]new
[D]The one that I read all th[Bm]ose fairytales to
[G]And tucked int[G/F#]o bed all[Em] those ni[A]ghts

[Bm]And I knew the first time I saw you wi[G]th her
It was o[D]nly a matter of time [A]

I loved her fi[D]rst, I held her f[Bm]irst
And a place in my h[G]eart will a[G/F#]lways be h[Em]ers
From the fi[A]rst breath she bre[D]athed when she first smiled at [Bm]me
I knew the l[G]ove of a f[G/F#]ather runs d[Em]eep [A]
And I [Em]prayed that she'd [D/F#]find you some[G]day [G/F#]
But it's s[Em]till hard to g[D/F#]ive her a[A]way
I loved her fi[D]rst

Lead Ride: [D] - [Bm] - [G] - [G/F#] - [Em] - [A]

From the first[A] breath she breath[D]ed
When she first smiled at me [Bm]
I knew the lo[G]ve of a f[G/F#]ather runs d[Em]eep [A]
Som[Em]eday you might kn[D/F#]ow what I'm goin' thr[G]ough[G/F#] [Em]
When a miracle sm[D/F#]iles up at y[A]ou
I loved her fi[D]rst

[D] [Bm] [G] [G/F#] [Em] [A] Ooh, ooh
