Check Yes Or No

DD--AA--GG, DD,--AA--GG)

I[D]t started[A] way back [G]in eight grade

I[D] used to si[A]t beside Emm[G]ie Lou Hayes

A[D] pink dress, ma[A]tching shoes, and a pon[G]y tail

S[G]he kissed me on the school bus and to[A]ld me not to tell.

(same progression)

Next day I chased her around the playground
Across the monkey bars to the merry go round
and Emmie Lou got caught passing a note
Before the teacher took it I read what she wrote: (chorus)

D[D]o you love me?, Do[Bm] you want to be[G] my friend?

a[A]nd if you do.

T[D]hen don't be afraid [Bm]to take me by the[G] hand

i[A]f you want to.

 [G]
 [A] (no Chords)
I think this is how love goes...check yes or no.

Then play intro

Now we're grown up and she's my wife
Still like two kids with stars in our eyes
Ain't much changed I still chase Emmie Lou
Up and down the hall, and the bed in our room.

Last night I took her out in a white limousine
Twenty years togethor and she still gets to me
can't believe it's been that long ago
when we got started with just a little note.

chorus X 2

note on the extro you will use the D-A-G progression, but pick the high E
(that's the 1st string open, no insult meant) after each D and A chord in the
progression. This adds the nice ring that George adds in the video and that
neat Wrangler jeans commercial)
