Old Friend

[G]
Take me back to the lake we used to swim
[G]In the heat of the da[D]y [G]
[G]Tak-ing [D]our precious[G] time
[C] [B] [Am] [Em] [G]

Feel the warmth on the rocks and the foot
[G]wondering what all the [D]fuss was about [G]
[D]list-ening[G] to what my b[D]rother pl[G]ayed
[C] [B] [Am] [Em] [G]

     Hey old friend
[D]Ive been so lu[C]cky just to have you in my life
[G]yes my man [D]
I hope [C]that everything is better every day
[G] [D] [G]

take for forward to the place I wanna be
[G]fa-r away from the big c[D]ity lights [G]
[D]fa-r [G]away from the d[D]runks and t[G]he fights in the city
[D] [G] [C] [B] [Am] [Em] [G]

let me float on my back for awhile
[G]trying to relax [D] [G]
[D] [G]

breathing it in
[D]list-ening to[G] the water in my ears
[C] [B] [Am] [Em] [G]

     Hey old friend
[D]Ive been so lu[C]cky just to have you in my life
[G]yes my man [D]
