Take Heart, My Friend

[D] [G] [D] [G]
Take heart, my [D]friend, we’ll go to[G]gether
This un[D]certain road that lies a[G]head
Our faithful [Bm]God has always gone be[A]fore us
And He will [Em]lead the way [G]once a[A]gain

Take heart, my [D]friend, we can walk to[G]gether
And if our [D]burdens become too [G]great
We can [Bm]hold up and help one an[A]other
In God’s [Em]love and God’s [A]grace [A]

Take heart my friend, the Lord is [G]with us
As He has [D]been all the days of our [Bm]lives [A]
Our as[G]surance e[A]very [Bm]morning[Bm/A]
Our de[Em]fender [G]in the n[D]ight [G] [D] [G]

If we should f[D]alter when trouble sur[G]rounds us
When the w[D]ind and the waves are wild and [G]high
We will look a[Bm]way to Him who ruled the [A]waters
Who spoke His [Em]peace into the angry [A]tide

He is our c[D]omfort, our sus[G]tainer
He is our [D]help in time of [G]need
And when we [Bm]wander, He is our S[A]hepherd
He who [Em]watches over us never [A]sleeps [A]

SECOND CHORUS
Take heart my f[D]riend, the Lord is [G]with us
As He has [D]been all the days of our [Bm]lives [A]
Our as[G]surance e[A]very [Bm]morning[Bm/A]
Our de[Em]fender [G]in the n[A]ight

CHORUS then [G] [D] [G] [D]
