The Lord Works In A Strange Way

[D]The Lord works in a strange way,
There ain't no[A] doubt,
Man he's gonna make a[Em] man of me,
He's gonna s[A]traighten me out somehow.
[D]I was twenty-seven years old that summer,
just [A]having my self a ball,
[Em]Working on a record deal,
playing in the [A]bars and concert halls[D], making money just to watch it burn[A], living day by day,
[Em]Stayed out late drinkin' way too much,[A] didn't act my age,
[G]But life turned on a [A]dime when she said,[G] you're going to be a daddy[A] come wintertime.
The Lord works in a s[D]trange way,
There ain't no[A] doubt,
Man he's gonna make a[Em] man of me,
He's gonna st[A]raighten me out somehow.
The lord works in a st[D]range way,
And Heaven[A] knows,
He's planning on a[Em] miracle,
man I wonder [A]how it's gonna go,
The lord works in a [D]strange [A]way,
[Em]Oh oh [A]

[D]Man I never saw the changes comin' they [A]caught me unaware,
[Em]One day I was as wild as a bull the [A]next I was a teddy bear,
[D]Put down the bottle about a month before,[A] And I put down the cigarettes,
[Em]Started holding my wife a little tighter and sayin' th[A]e prayers I used' forget,
[G]And now I look into thos[A]e baby blue eyes and [G]I find all the peace I've been searching for yeah I
[A]finally realize

The lord works in a [D]strange way,
There ain't n[A]o doubt,
Man he's gonna make a[Em] man of me,
He's gonna str[A]aighten me out somehow.
The lord works in a[D] strange way,
And it stirs my[A] soul I'm holding onto a m[Em]iracle and I ain't[A] ever letting go
The lord works in a [D]strange [A]way.
I've finally made my[Em] peace with god and I've got sweet [A]comfort in my soul
The lord works in a [D]strange [A]way.
man he's gonna make a[Em] man of me a man of me
[A]Ohhh
The lord works in a [D]strange [A]way.
Ohhh a [Em]ohhh [A]
The lord works in a [D]strange way
