Fifteen Years Ago

[D]I saw a man today who said he talk[A7]ed to you [D]
Not so long ago I think a m[G]onth or two [D]
As my mind raced back in time [G]
I prayed oh Lord d[D]on't let it show [G]
He thinks I for[D]got you fifteen y[A7]ears ago [D]

Fifteen years ago and I still fee[G]l the same [D]
Why did he have to mention your name [A7]
I'm as bro[D]ken up inside as [G]if it's been a we[D]ek or so [G]
              [D] [G] [D]
[G]I takes a mighty strong love to keep a man thinking of
A girl he hasn[D]'t seen since fifteen ye[A7]ars ago [D]

I've got a lovely wife who thinks the wo[A7]rld of me [D]
Promised her my love through all eternity [G] [D]
                                         [G]
[D]I've tried hard to ma[G]ke her happy and so far she doesn't know
I can't sha[D]ke this thing of fifteen y[A7]ears ago [D]

Fifteen years ago and I still fee[G]l the same [D]
Why did he have to mention your name [A7]
I'm as bro[D]ken up inside as [G]if it's been a we[D]ek or so [G]
               [D] [G] [D]
[G]It takes a mighty long time to get a real love off your mind
I know I've tried [D]since fifteen y[A7]ears ago [D]
