A Matter Of Trust

[D] [Bm] 2x

[D]Some love is just a [A]lie of the [Bm]heart[A] [D]
The cold remains of what be[A]gan with a [Bm]passionate [A]start

And they may not want it to end
But it will, it's just a [A7]question of [D]when

[D]I've lived long e[A]nough to have [Bm]learned[A] [D]
The closer you get to the [A]fire the [Bm]more you get [A]burned

But that won't happen to us
Because it's always been a [A7]matter of [D]trust

[D] [Bm] 2x

[D]I know you're an e[A]motional [Bm]girl [A] [D]
It took a lot for you to [A]not lose your [Bm]faith in this [A]world

I can't offer you proof
But you're gonna face a [A7]moment of [D]truth

[D]It's hard when you're [A]always a[Bm]fraid[A] [D]
You just recover when a[A]nother be[Bm]lief is be[A]trayed

So break my heart if you must
It's a [A7]matter of [D]trust

You [Em]can't go the distance
With [F#m]too much resistance
I [G]know you have [F#m]doubts
But for [A]God's sake don't shut me [G]out [A] [D]

[D]This time you've got [A]nothing to [Bm]lose[A] [D]
You can take it, you can [A]leave it, what[Bm]ever you [A]choose

I won't hold back anything
And I'll walk away a [A7]fool or a [D]king

[D]Some love is just a [A]lie of the [Bm]mind [A] [D]
It's make believe until it's [A]only a [Bm]matter of [A]time

And some might have learned to adjust
But then it never was a [A7]matter of [D]trust

[D] [Bm] 2x break

I'm [Em]sure you're aware love
We've [F#m]both had our share of
Be[G]lieving too [F#m]long
When the [A]whole situation was [G]wrong[A] [D]

[D]Some love is just a [A]lie of the [Bm]soul[A] [D]
A constant battle for the [A]ultimate [Bm]state of con[A]trol

After you've heard lie upon lie
There can hardly be a [A7]question of [D]why

[D]Some love is just a [A]lie of the [Bm]heart[A] [D]
The cold remains of what be[A]gan with a [Bm]passionate [A]start

But that can't happen to us
Because it's always been a [A7]matter of [D]trust

[D] [Bm]
A matter of [D]trust

[D] [Bm] 2x

It’s always been a matter of [D]trust

[D] [Bm] 2x
It’s a matter of [D]trust. . . .
