First you run down to the bank & you get yourself a loan
For $80,000 cash you can drive that tractor home
You can drive all night, you can drive all day
You can drive over anything gettin' in your way
And you ain't got a worry til the pay-back day
Down on the American Farm
So you get some stuff & you spread it around
To keep the bugs & the animals down
And you spray it on the crops & you pump it on the ground
But the bugs get bigger & attack the folks in town
You can spray all day, you can spray all night
But the bugs get bigger & they ain't afraid to fight
You can drive all night, you can drive all day
You can drive over anything gettin' in your way
And you ain't got a worry til the pay-back day
Down on the American Farm
Pretty soon the crops come up & you goes to cut 'em down
You put some in a pickup truck & you hauls it all to town
But the more you grow, the more you spend
The less it's worth to the market in the end
You can spray all day, you can spray all night
But the bugs get bigger & they ain't afraid to fight
You can drive all night, you can drive all day
You can drive over anything gettin' in your way
Now it's driving you crazy cuz you can't afford to stay
