The Measure Of A Man

[G] [C] [G]

[G]This world can analyze and size you up and throw you[Dsus4] on the scales

They[C] can I.Q. you and run you through

Their rigor[C]ous det[Dsus4]ails

They can[G] do their best to rate you

And they'll plac[G]e you on[Dsus4] the charts

And then[D] back it up with scientific smarts

But there's more[Em7] to what you're worth

Than their human[G] eyes can see

Oh[G], I say the measure of a man

Is not h[C]ow tall you stand

How weal[C]thy or intelligent [Dsus4]you are

'Cause I'v[G]e found out the measure of a man

God kn[C]ows and understands

For He l[Dsus4]ooks inside to the bottom of your heart

And what[Em7]'s in the heart defines

The measur[G]e of a man

SAME CHORDS AS VERSE 1)-----

Well, you can doubt your worth
And search for who you are
And where you stand
But God made you in His image
When He formed you in His hands
And He looks at you with mercy
And He sees you through His love
You're His child and that will always be enough
For there's more to what you're worth
Than you could ever comprehend

Yo[Em7]u can spend your life pursuing physical perfection

The[Em7]re is so much more

More than ever m[Dsus4]eets the eye

For Go[Em7]d looks through the surface

And He defines your worth by wha[C]t is on the inside

KEY CHANGE 1 STEP UP)-----

I say the measure of a man
Is not how tall you stand
How wealthy or intelligent you are
'Cause I've found out the measure of a man
God knows and understands
For He looks inside
To the bottom of your heart
And what's in the heart defines
Oh, I say the measure of
The measure of a man
Is not how tall you stand,
How wealthy or intelligent you are
Oh, I've found the measure of a man
God knows and understands it
For He looks to the bottom of your heart

And what[C]'s in the heart d[Dsus4]efines

Yeah, wh[C]at's in the heart[Dsus4] defines

Yeah, wh[C]at's in the heart d[Dsus4]efines

The m[G]easure o[C]f a ma[G]n

I[C] know, I k[G]now
