Drop D guitar tabs

How to practice drop d

Drop D lowers the sixth string from E to D, extending the bass range and changing familiar low-string shapes. Verify the tuning before starting and remember that ordinary sixth-string fret names move down a whole step.

• • Tune the sixth string carefully
• • Use the open low D as a reference
• • Return to standard tuning for standard chord diagrams
